On the front, it offers a 5-inches Full HD 2.5D curved glass panel which should attract a lot of buyers who’re looking out for smartphones with smaller displays. It is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Quad-Core processor clocked at 2.15GHz along with a generous 4GB of RAM, 64GB internal storage and Adreno 530 GPU. There’s a non-removable 3500mAh battery pack underneath stuffed together with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 that has the ability to juice up the device to 80% in about an hour. The Zuk Z2 runs on Android Marshmallow layered over by ZUK 2.0 custom interface. Additionally, the Z2 features the U-Touch 2.0 fingerprint sensor housed under the home button on the front which the company claims can unlock the phone in under 0.1 seconds. Design wise, ZUK has provided a metal build measuring at only 8.45mm in thickness. However, it does miss out the ThinkPad-inspired roll cage design available on the Z2 Pro which ensures better protection.

Moreover, for the camera-centric crowd, Z2 features a 13MP rear f/2.2 ISOCELL sensor with Phase Detection Autofocus, EIS, and CAF dual-mode focus. For selfies, an 8MP front-facing f/2.0 lens with 1.4μm pixel size is present too. Lastly, the phone supports Dual SIM, 4G LTE and a USB Type-C port for data transfer and charging purposes. The ZUK Z2 will retail at an attractive price of 1,799 yuan (US$ 273 / Rs. 18,370 ) and will be sold in China starting from June 7th for which registrations commence today. ZUK is also selling a native USB Type-C wireless charger which apparently can be used as a charging cover for 299 yuan (US$ 45 / Rs. 3,050 approx.). The Z2 will be directly competing against Asus’s newly announced Zenfone 3, although, in terms of raw numbers, ZUK takes a significant lead here. It all, however, boils down to how they perform in real life.
