Last year, Reliance announced two new offerings: Jio Fiber and Jio Set-Top box. On the one hand, you have Jio Fiber, a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) internet broadband service that promises gigabit speeds, has seen an increase in adoption across the country, and is still gaining new customers at a rapid pace. While on the other, there is Jio Set-Top Box, which is a media streaming player that offers content from some of the popular OTT platforms in the world....

Sony Mobile Communications sustained a profit of $37 million (3.7 billion JPY) in Q2 2016, up from $4 Million in Q1. The company’s restructuring cost it over $500 Million in 2015, however, thanks to the downsizing of lineups and pivot to lesser models harvesting higher margins, things seems to be have patched up at least for now. Selling about 3.5 Million handsets in the most recent quarter, their sales in total, were down by 40 percent year-on-year as Sony axed the majority of budget offerings....

The new firmware update will enable FDD-LTE (1800MHz) on the following models: Lumia 1520, Lumia 1320, Lumia 930, Lumia 925, Lumia 920, Lumia 830 and the Lumia 625. As a matter of fact, the devices already had 4G radio built in and apparently, due to the unavailability of the LTE networks during the launch prompted them to disable this connectivity option. A design that will definitely invite a second glance After following broadly conventional lines for most of its premium flagships, OnePlus has decided to take a design road less traveled for the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G (hence referred to as “OnePlus 10 Pro” for the sake of simplicity). Whether one likes it or not, what cannot be denied is that it definitely makes the device stand out from the routine flagship crowd and makes it perhaps the most distinct OnePlus since the OnePlus 7T, with its circular camera unit....

From the first look at the renders, the OnePlus 8 appears to have a minimal bezel design all around, surrounded by a metal frame. Towards the front, it has a hole-punch cutout on the top-left for the selfie camera, and the rear has a triple-camera setup arranged in a vertical module in the center. What’s interesting about the renders is that we now see OnePlus moving towards a different aesthetic approach with the colorway....

Build and Design Samsung has been known for its premium build quality and design elements and the Galaxy S20+ is a prime example of it. The S20+ has a typical glass sandwich design with extremely slim bezels on all four sides. The back is glossy, and the cameras are housed in a square module on the left corner. The OnePlus 8 Pro also follows a similar design language with glass on either side, but with a frosted look compared to the glossy look on the S20+....

To begin with, in terms of design, the OnePlus Buds appear to have a similar design language as some of the other earbuds in the market — inspired by Apple’s AirPods. The earbuds themselves have a stem design, and the case features a puck-shaped body that appears somewhat similar to the case of the recently announced Vivo TWS Neo earbuds. OPPO A5 2020 and A9 2020: Display and Design The A5 and A9 feature a 6.5-inch nano waterdrop screen with an 89% screen-to-body ratio and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3+ protection on top to provide protection against scratches. OPPO calls this a nano waterdrop screen and says that it offers a 31.4% decrease in the overall area compared to the previous generation. On its back, the A9 comes with a 3D gradient design, made out of four curved 3D sheets to make it thinner and more ergonomic in hand....

Raspberry Pi has been making a lot of buzz for being very inexpensive (just $35) low-power computer designed to run Linux and other open source operating systems. Realme X7 To start with, the Realme X7 India variant is pretty much the same as the Realme V15, which recently got announced in China a few weeks back. It comes with a gradient finish design on the rear and has a rectangular camera module to house the triple-camera array. Towards the front, the phone features a 6.4-inch (AMOLED) punch-hole display. The display offers an FHD+ screen resolution and up to 600 nits of brightness....

Over the past few quarters, Samsung’s handset market shares have been tumbling in multiple markets, and two reports suggest that the inevitable has happened. Micromax and Xiaomi, both being local players, have managed to topple Samsung in past quarter’s market share. In India Micromax now accounts for 16.6% of all the handsets that were shipped in India, followed by Samsung whose share slipped to 14.4% according to market research form Counterpoint Research....
