OnePlus One: Captain America The first one makes a mark…always The first (and some say the truly original) Avenger reflects the very OnePlus device best. Like Captain America, the OnePlus One was a bold experiment in a market that was getting very predictable. Just as Steve Rogers, a virtual nobody, was transformed into a superhero by some very innovative technology, OnePlus was transformed from being a run of the mill device, thanks to some supremely clever technology and marketing....

To an extent this was understandable. After all, the Nokia 1 was the most modestly specced and designed device of the quartet that was showcased that day. It came with no claims to being carved out of a block of metal or with Zeiss optics. And it had no internals that would set benchmarks on fire. And yet. And yet it could very much be THE device that delivers what matters most to many phone companies – volumes....

In terms of design, the Nokia 2.2 features a polycarbonate design with Glossy nano-coating (on top), on its rear, and a 5.71-inch HD+ display with a notch at the top and a 19:9 aspect ratio that goes edge-to-edge and offers up to 400nits of brightness. At its core, it has a 2GHz Quad-Core Mediatek Helio A22 chipset running under the hood, paired with 2GB / 3GB of RAM and 16GB / 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 400GB with microSD card), with 3000mAh battery, and Android One (based on Android 9 Pie), running on top....

Nokia 5.3 Starting off with the Nokia 5.3, which falls in the mid-segment (under-200 USD price point), the latest offering from the company comes with an all-glass design, similar to the Nokia 8.3, with Corning’s Glass protection on the front and the back. Towards the front, there is a 6.55-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop-style notch for the selfie camera. The display offers a 20:9 aspect ratio with a 1600 x 720 pixels screen resolution....

The Nokia 8110 comes with 4G connectivity and is also offers a handful of carefully curated apps. The company has decided to include Google Assistant, Maps, and Search along with Facebook and Twitter. And yes, before we forget Nokia 8110 comes baked in with the Snake game. As far as colors are concerned, the company has decided to paint the 8110 in a shade of banana yellow, loud and eye-catching for sure....

Nokia 2.1 Features Let’s take a look at the Nokia 2.1 first, which is the least expensive of the lot. The Nokia 1 was Nokia’s first Android Go edition smartphone and they’ve followed it up with the Nokia 2.1. While the Nokia 2 was a very mediocre offering at most, the 2.1 doesn’t seem all that bad. It sports a 5.5-inch 720p display with a 16:9 aspect ratio which is understandable given the price the device sells for is pretty nominal....

So, naturally, this has upset those users who were hoping for a not so heavy modified Android version and something closer to the clean, Vanilla version. While this could happen in the future with another device, if you own a Nokia X, X+ or XL and you want to run on clean Android, an ingenious developer has released Vanilla Android 4.1.2 for the Nokia X which is already available for download....

Aiming to do things differently and make a splash in the Android world, Nothing’s first attempt at a smartphone is a unique offering: one with a unique design on the back – thanks to the LEDs – and equivalent hardware to keep up in the mid-range smartphone category. The buyback sum itself is determined simply based on how old your phone is. For usage of between 3-5 months, you get 70% of the original value, 55% if it’s been more than six months since you bought it and 40% for 9-12 months....

Sticking to those Nord basics That is evident from the moment you see the Nord 2. We got the Blue Haze variant, and it is a testament to how well the first Nord was marketed that we got Nord-ish feels off it right away. Yes, there are subtle design changes (the cameras on the back are arranged slightly differently, and the lenses on the back are larger). Still, there is no way you can mistake this phone for anything but a Nord, even without that OnePlus logo on the back....

The Snapdragon Wear 3100’s biggest highlight is a new coprocessor. Qualcomm says 95% of the times a smartwatch sits idle and is only employed for checking the time or date. So it essentially separated all those functions to a dedicated processor. What that does is optimizes the watch’s sensors and ambient display features to use up to 20 times less energy than the main processor would. For the user, that means a longer battery life....

Just in case you are unaware, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 and 652 have been among the most popular chips for the leading chipmaker in 2016. With major upgrades over its predecessor, they succeeded in replacing the reigning Mediatek 6752 to become the prime choice in almost all mid-range smartphones. Starting from the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 to the Sony Xperia X Performance, Snapdragon 650 can be seen inside many smartphones....

The Realme 5 follows in that tradition. Some feel that the device was targeted squarely at the Mi A3 which Xiaomi has launched today. And with good reason. The two devices were launched within a day of each other. And there is no getting away from some of the similarities – the slightly edgy design, the 720p display, the multiple cameras, the big battery and of course, that processor. But comparing those two phones is another story – and one which we are doing!...

Realme GT 5G: Design and Display Starting with the design, the Realme GT 5G appears to have a design aesthetic that seems inspired by sports cars. There are two design versions for the device: glass and leather. Talking about the glass design, Realme has two different finishes for this one: Silver and Blue, both of which undergo different manufacturing processes. On the other hand, the other variant, Leather, comes in a Racing Yellow color with a dual-tone finish....

Realme Watch: Design and Display In terms of design, the Realme Watch features a square design, with rounded corners and a power ON/OFF button on the right. It has IP68 water resistance, which means, users no longer have to worry about removing their watch in most situations. Towards the front, the watch comes with a 1.4-inch touchscreen display with 323ppi pixel density and 380 nits of brightness. The display has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top to preserve the display from scratches....

The Redmi Go is expected to feature a 5-inch HD screen, with an aspect ratio of 16:9, at 296 PPI. Powered by a 1.4GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor with Adreno 308 GPU, paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB or 16GB of internal storage, expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. For connectivity, the device could come with Dual SIM support (Nano + Nano), with microSD card tray, with Bluetooth 4....

Well, there is good news for those waiting for the Poco F2 – the phone has been released in India. Only under a different name. Xiaomi has chosen to call it the Redmi K50i 5G. Yes, it is being marketed as the return of the Redmi K series to India, but make no mistake about it, this is a phone with a Poco F1 soul. It has been almost four years since the Poco F1 was released, but it is amazing how similar the K50i is to it in terms of core philosophy....
