The renders for the alleged OnePlus 8 Lite stem from the collaboration between 91mobiles and OnLeaks, which provides a 360-degree video to detail the same. Based on the CAD renders, it appears that the OnePlus 8 Lite will feature a flat display panel with a hole-punch cutout in the center, which appears to be the trend with smartphones going forward. Towards the rear, the phone seems to sport a rectangular camera module that houses two lenses along with a bunch of sensors. Talking in specifics, the renders suggest that the OnePlus 8 Lite might come with a curved glass panel with a gradient finish on the rear. The rear camera in the rectangular module can have two rear cameras, coupled with an LED flash and a few sensors such as the ToF (Time-of-Flight). Towards the front, the phone is expected to flaunt a 6.4-inch of 6.5-inch display with a hole-punch at the center to house the single front-facing camera. The renders also suggest that the phone might include an in-display fingerprint scanner, in which case, it is safe to assume that the panel would likely be an OLED.

Besides these details and specifications, there is not much known about the OnePlus 8 Lite yet. But it is interesting to see OnePlus working on a budget offering, an idea that it dropped after the OnePlus X, back in the year 2015. As of now, the renders are in a very nascent stage, so you must take them with a pinch of salt. However, they do provide an idea of the company’s plans in the future, and we can expect to see more leaks and renders adding to these renders in the coming months. So stay tuned for further updates. Editor’s note: Back in Feb 2018, our very own Tech Auntyji had reported about OnePlus X2 possibly being in works. OnePlus co-founder, Carl Pei was quick to dismiss it. If we go by Auntyji, OnePlus was surely considering a successor but the idea was probably shelved. One theory is that it happened because Oppo had plans for a new brand, Realme at that time. Mind you, Realme was announced around May 2018. It’s surely interesting that OnePlus is now back with plans for mid-range as Realme steps into the premium market with phones like Realme X2 Pro.
