Earlier today, Economic Times reported that the Indian government has penned-down a list of 275 Chinese apps that it will put close tabs on to determine any violation of national security and user privacy — indirectly hinting at the possibility of these apps being banned in the country. As per the report, the list includes popular apps like PUBG, AliExpress, Resso, and many more — all of which are allegedly suspected for “violation of data sharing and privacy concerns“....

This is what Canalys Research Analyst Ishan Dutt had to say “This growth comes as a relief to the smartphone industry. Doubts about India’s market potential are clearly dispelled by this result.” He further added that “There are close to 100 mobile device brands sold in India, with more vendors arriving every quarter. UUP will essentially enable differential downloads for all Windows 10 devices except Xbox consoles. Reed Hastings, the Netflix co-founder and CEO explained in his keynote how the number of hours watched on Netflix has gone up from 12 billion hours in Q4 up from 8.25 billion a year ago. The service boasted of Adaptive Streaming and a decentralized network covering 190 countries with 125 million hours of content being delivered each day. Netflix has added a whopping 130 new countries as announced in the keynote today and here is the list of all the countries where Netflix is available....

This new billing options is however going to be rolled out incrementally over “several weeks” to a small group of users. The slow rollout however suggests that it might be several weeks or even months before this billing method is available for all the Netflix users.
